I’m normally a 39/39.5 (au 8/8.5) following size guide I got the size 40 and while they are super comfy and roomy and I am happy with them, my going a size up was unnecessary tbh just get your regular size! —— yes the smell isn’t great, but I left them outside to air out for a day, after 2-3 wears it’s barely noticeable anymore. Their also great quality, buying them from anywhere else they’ll be exactly the same and just a waste of your money, i reccomend these highly!!
